THE LOCATION

The cottage is on the High Street in the village of Wootton Bridge, close to picturesque Wootton Creek (shown above) great for feeding the ducks & swans or just watching the boats go by.

Ideal for country walks taking in coast, woodland and the famous Isle of Wight Steam Railway. Other local attractions include Quarr Abbey, Butterfly World and Firestone Copse with it's population of red squirrels.

Wootton has all the amenities you could need including village shops (butcher, chemist, general store & launderette) fish & chip shop, 3 pubs all serving food, one less than a minutes walk from the cottage on Wootton Creek. Recent arrivals are an Indian & a Chinese takeaway.

Being centrally located, we are not far from the county town of Newport with its theatre, arts centre and cinema, or the beaches and attractions of Ryde and the East coast resorts of Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor.

Wootton Bridge is 5 minutes from the Fishbourne to Portsmouth Wightlink car ferry or 10 minutes from the East Cowes to Southampton Red Funnel car ferry.

THE ISLE OF WIGHT

Having been born and brought up on the Island is was easy to become complacent about its beauty. Now as a 'visitor' I appreciate it much more - sandy beaches ideal for the children or secret coves reached after a scramble down cliffs. There is something for everyone - a fantastic footpath network both around the coast and across beautiful downs, cycle ways along disused railways & the 'Round the Island Cycle Route' and bridleways everywhere.

There are many attractions around the Island all within an easy drive including:

• Amazon World - go
